Common After-Hours Clinical Questions
•CARE OF PROCEDURE SITE: Click Procedure Care.
•BIOPSY RESULTS: Our clinical staff should contact you to review your biopsy results within 2 weeks of your biopsy. Our office sends a text message to notify of benign results and will call for any results requiring follow-up. Note: If you were scheduled for a follow-up in office to review your results, these results will be discussed at that time.
•BLEEDING AT BIOPSY SITE: Apply firm direct pressure to the biopsy site with a clean towel or gauze for 30 minutes straight. If bleeding persists, repeat firm direct pressure for 1-hour straight. You may also apply an ice pack over the protected biopsy site for 10 minutes at a time. If bleeding persists, please call our office the following business day at 7:30a to request a wound check. If bleeding is leading to dizziness, please proceed to the ER.
•CONCERN FOR INFECTION AT A PROCEDURE SITE: Please call our office the following business day at 7:30a to request a wound check. If you have rapidly expanding redness around your procedure site, fever, chills, nausea/vomiting, please proceed to the ER.
