You are scheduled for an upcoming Microneedling Consultation +/- Procedure at Vital Dermatology. Please review the following:
To ensure you are a good candidate for the microneedling procedure, you will be scheduled for microneedling CONSULTATION first. If there are no contraindications, the microneedling procedure will be performed the SAME DAY.
Payment
-Microneeding cost is $350. Full payment is due at the time of the service.
-Please note, if you are evaluated and elect not to proceed with microneedling procedure that day, a 100$ consultation visit charged.
Expectations
-Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure using thin needles. This procedure can improve skin texture and the appearance of fine wrinkles, scars and acne. A topical numbing cream will be applied prior to the procedure. Mild discomfort is expected but the procedure is not painful.
-A mild sunburn-like reaction is expected in the 1-2 days after treatment. Mild dryness, peeling and bruising may occur within the 1st week.
-Multiple treatments are often required to achieve desirable results.
-Treatment can be repeated every 4+ weeks.
Microneedling CANNOT be performed in the setting of:
-Accutane (also known as isotretinoin) in the 6 months prior
-Active sunburn
-Pregnancy
-Active rash or infection in the treatment area
-Allergy to topical anesthetics such lidocaine or tetracaine
-Bleeding disorder
Prior to your Appointment
3 days prior:
Stop oral anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin unless necessary for your health.
Stop topical agents that may increase sensitivity of the skin: retinoids (tretinoin, Retin-A), exfoliants, benzoyl peroxide, and acids (such as salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid).
1 week prior:
No unprotected sun exposure, no laser treatments, no hair waxing/hair remover cream, no harsh cosmetic peels.
On the Day of your Treatment
-Arrive with clean skin without lotion, makeup or sunscreen.
After your Treatment
On day of treatment:
Cleanse with gentle soap (such as Vanicream, CeraVe or Cetaphil)
Apply Skinfuse Rescue Complex (sample provided) throughout the day to keep skin moisturized.
For discomfort, you may apply a cold compress.
Avoid strenuous exercise, activities that cause sweating or excessive heat.
Avoid any sun exposure.
After 24 hours: You may resume use of makeup and sunscreen (zinc-based recommended).
Wait until all irritation or peeling has resolved before resuming the following (may take 1-2 weeks):
Any topical agents such as retinoids, exfoliants, benzoyl peroxide, or topical azaleic acid. This may take 1-2 weeks.
Hot tub, jacuzzi, sauna
General Appointment Reminders
-Please arrive 5 minutes early.
-Call to reschedule if you have had confirm/suspect COVID-19 in the last 10 days or an active fever on day of the appointment.
-A credit card on file is required for all patients in order to process refunds and delinquent balances.
-For appointments cancelled with less than 24 hour notice, a 75$ fee is applied.
